China: New standards to be included in the implementation of mandatory automotive product certification

 

A list of standards planned to be included in the implementation of mandatory automotive product certification has recently been published in China.

Among the standards are:

• GB/T 38694-2020 Requirements and test methods of alert for vehicle turning right
• GB/T 38185-2019 Performance requirements and testing methods for electronic stability control system (ESC) for commercial vehicles
• GB/T 38186-2019 Performance requirements and test methods for advanced emergency braking system (AEBS) of commercial vehicles
• GB/T 38796-2020 Performance requirements and test methods of automobile blow-out emergency safety device
• GB/T 38892-2020 On-board driving video recording system

The references to the standards will be included into the standard GB 7258-2017 Technical Specifications for Safety of Power-driven Vehicles Operating on Roads.  The standard specifies the basic technical requirements on the running safety such as motor vehicle main assembly and safety protection devices.  It applies to all motor vehicles traveling on the road in China.
