Saudi Arabia: Electric vehicle conductive charging system – Part 1: General requirements

 

Saudi Arabia has published a new standard Electric vehicle conductive charging system – Part 1: General requirements.  The code of the standard is SASO/DS/IEC 61851-1:2018/AMD1:2022.

The new standard is a modification of the International Standard IEC 61851-1:2018.

The standard has been modified as indicated to take into account of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s conditions: Mode 1 is prohibited for domestic use or industrial, and mode 2 is prohibited to be used in public areas and allowed to be used in private areas under conditions.

The text of the amendments is available HERE.  The proposed date of adoption is still to be determined.
