China: eight new mandatory standards for the CCC certification of vehicles

 

On July 8, 2022, the National Certification and Accreditation Administration of the Peoples Republic of China issued Announcement No. 9 of 2022, which adds 8 Chinese national standards for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) of vehicle products. The standards are:

– GB/T 38694-2020 Performance requirements and testing methods for electronic stability control system(ESC) for commercial vehicles, applicable to trucks with a total mass greater than or equal to 12000kg;

– GB/T 38185-2019 Performance requirements and testing methods for electronic stability control system(ESC) for commercial vehicles, applicable to buses with a height greater than or equal to 3.7m without a standing area for passengers;

– GB/T 38186-2019 Performance requirements and test methods for advanced emergency braking system (AEBS) of commercial vehicles for commercial vehicles, applicable to highway buses and tourist buses with a length of more than 11m

– GB/T 38796-2020 Performance requirements and test methods of automobile blow-out emergency safety device , applicable to special school bus, buses with a length of more than 9m without a standing area for passengers, and trucks for transporting dangerous goods with a total mass of more than 3500kg.

– GB/T 38892-2020 On-board driving video recording system , applicable to passenger cars ;

– GB 39732-2020 Vehicle event data recorder system , applicable to passenger cars ;

– HJ 1137-2020 Measurement methods for nor-regulated emissions from methanol fuelled vehicles,applicable to methanol fuelled vehicles

– GB/T 39132-2020 Fuel cell electric vehicle engineering approval evaluation program, applicable to fuel cell electric vehicles, this standard only implements clause 5.3.3.3.

From July 1, 2023, for newly accepted certification applications, certification bodies shall implement certification according to all standards including 8 standards.

Relevant products that have been delivered, sold, and imported before July 1 , 2023 , do not need to renew the compulsory product certification, but should meet other relevant laws and regulations.
