Switzerland: Amendment to the Ordinance on Technical Requirements for Road Vehicles

Switzerland has announced an amendment to the Ordinance on Technical Requirements for Road Vehicles.

The proposed revision includes a general harmonization of Swiss technical vehicle requirements with the new Regulation (EU) 2019/2144. These are mainly measures aimed at improving road safety. The aim is in particular to make the new EU regulations on driver assistance systems and control systems, as well as other requirements aimed at increasing the safety of road vehicles, also mandatory in Switzerland (see particular sections 102a, 103, 104a, 104b and 105).
