EU: Public consultation on new document templates for the approval of some of a motor vehicle’s features

 

The EU Commission has published a public consultation on document templates for the approval of a motor vehicle’s:

• intelligent speed assistance system
• driver drowsiness and attention warning system
• event data recorder.

It will ensure consistency in implementing EU vehicle approval legislation.

It also amends the type-approval rules (Regulation (EU) 2021/535) to require that the mass of the energy storage system be included in the certificate of conformity of zero-emission vehicles.

The consultation is open between 7 November 2023 – 5 December 2023.
