China: New GB standards for motorcycles
China has published two new GB standards for motorcycles:
- National Standard of the P.R.C., Symbols for controls, indicators and tell-tale for motorcycles and mopeds (GB 15365—20XX)
- National Standard of the P.R.C., Safety property requirements and test method for fuel tanks of motorcycles and mopeds (GB 19482—XXXX)
The first standard specifies the graphic symbols of controls, indicators, tell-tales and the colour of tell-tales for motorcycle and mopeds. It applies to indicators, tell-tales mounted on dashboards, and controls near motorcycle and moped drivers. This does not mean that every control listed in this document must be used. It applies to motorcycles and mopeds.
The second one specifies the safety performance requirements and test methods for the fuel tanks of motorcycles and mopeds. It applies to metal and non-metal fuel tanks for motorcycles and mopeds.
The Chinese texts of the standards can be found HERE and HERE.
