Colombia: Extension of the entry into force of technical regulations for retroreflective tapes, child restraint anchor systems and glazing.

 

The Republic of Colombia has notified the Resolution No. 20253040005415 of 20 February 2025 postponing the entry into force of:

• Resolution No. 20223040044845 of 2022 concerning retro-reflective tape for use on motor vehicles and their trailers;
• Resolution No. 20223040044935 of 2022 concerning restraint systems for use in motor vehicles;
• Resolution No. 20223040044945 of 2022 concerning safety glazing materials for use in motor vehicles and trailers

The following details were communicated:

Retro-reflective tape

Extesion until August 22, 2025, the entry into force of Resolution 20223040044845 of 2022 “By which the technical regulation that establishes the requirements for retroreflective tapes for use in motor vehicles and their trailers circulating in Colombia is issued”, in relation to the following product: Retroreflective tapes for use in vehicles

During the term of this extension, the provisions of Resolution 538 of 2013 with its respective modifications will apply, in accordance with the provisions of Article Resolution 20213040063935 of 2021, modified by Article 1 of Resolution 20223040038015 of 2022. Paragraph 2. As of March 22, 2025, producers who have a certificate of conformity issued in accordance with the alternatives established in article 2.2.1.7.9.2 of Decree 1074 of 2015, and in compliance with the provisions of Resolution 20223040044845 of 2022, may present said certificate to the VUCE for conformity assessment, until the follow-up date, whichever occurs first.

Child restraint systems

Extension until September 22, 2025, the entry into force of Resolution 20223040044935 of 2022 “By which the technical regulation applicable to restraint systems for use in motor vehicles is issued”, in relation to the following product: Child restraint anchors

During the term of this extension, the provisions of Resolution 2009 will apply, in accordance with the provisions of article 1 of Resolution 20213040063935 of 2021, modified by article 1 of Resolution 20223040038015 of 2022.

Glazing

Extension until September 22, 2025, the entry into force of Resolution 20223040044945 of 2022, “By which the technical regulation is issued that establishes the requirements applicable to safety glazing for use in motor trailers, which are manufactured, imported or marketed in Colombia”, in relation to the following product: Glazing

During the term of this extension, the provisions of Resolution 322 of 2002 with its respective modifications will apply, in accordance with the provisions of article Resolution 20213040063935 of 2021, modified by article 1 of Resolution 20223040038015 of 2022.
