Vietnam: Updates to the Vietnamese vehicle regulation

 

Vietnam has published a Draft National Technical Regulation on Safety and Environmental Protection for Automobiles (Proposed code: QCVN XXX:2026/BXD.

This draft National Technical Regulation sets out the technical requirements for the inspection, testing, and certification of technical safety, quality, and environmental protection for newly manufactured, assembled, and imported automobiles.

The Regulation establishes requirements for key vehicle systems, including engines, power transmission systems, braking systems, steering systems, lighting and signalling devices, as well as environmental protection standards such as exhaust emission limits and noise restrictions.

This draft National Technical Regulation applies to organizations and individuals engaged in the inspection, testing, and certification of automobiles with respect to technical safety, quality, and environmental protection.
