Japan: New requirements for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems come into effect

Japan has informed that its new requirements for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems and Remote Keyless Entry came into force on 24 July 2026.

In the new Ordinance for Enforcement of the Radio Act and Relevant Public Notice, the frequency band used for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems is expanded to 433.05 MHz–434.79 MHz.  The new Regulation for Radio Equipment and Relevant Public Notice will eliminate the requirements previously imposed on the equipment enclosure.
