Vietnam: New regulation on dimensions and masses of motor vehicles

Vietnam has published a new regulation on dimensions and masses of motor vehicles: Draft National technical regulation on permitted tolerance and rounding for dimension, mass of motor vehicles, construction machinery and component (Proposed code: QCVN XX:2026/BXD)

It specifies:

– Permitted tolerances for dimensions and mass of motor vehicles, construction machinery, and vehicle components during inspection, testing, and certification of technical safety and environmental protection; in technical safety and environmental protection inspection of motor vehicles and construction machinery; and in technical safety and environmental protection certification for modified motor vehicles and modified construction machinery.

– Rounding rules for measurement parameters of motor vehicles, construction machinery, and vehicle components during inspection, testing, and modification inspection.

This draft National Technical Regulation applies to organizations and individuals involved in the following activities:

– Inspection, testing, and certification of technical safety and environmental protection for motor vehicles, construction machinery, and vehicle components.

– Technical safety and environmental protection inspection for motor vehicles and construction machinery.

– Technical safety and environmental protection certification for modified motor vehicles and modified construction machinery.
