Allemagne : Un nouveau règlement sur les exigences techniques pour les pièces de véhicules a été publié

Germany has published a new version of the Technical Requirements for Vehicle Parts during Type Examination under § 22a of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO).

The subsequent amendment to the Technical Requirements aims to ensure that vehicle parts requiring type-approval align with the latest technology and that only such parts are used.

At the request of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and the Technical Committee on Vehicle Technology (FKT), the Technical Committee on Vehicle Technology – Special Committee on Lighting Equipment (FKT-SdA ‘Licht’) undertook the significant task of revising the Technical Requirements for Vehicle Parts during Type Examination under § 22a StVZO, with a focus on lighting, to align these requirements with the latest technology in the interest of traffic safety.

The technical requirements apply to the testing of vehicle parts that must be of an officially approved design in accordance with Section 22a of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.

The Federal Motor Transport Authority can deviate from the technical requirements if road safety allows it and technical development requires it.

In these cases, the report from the technical service must contain a detailed technical description with documents that include all aspects important for approval as well as a detailed description of the deviations with reasons.

The Federal Motor Transport Authority can also recognize tests that are carried out and certified by the responsible testing centers of other member states of the European Union or member states of the European Economic Area.

The technical requirements must be applied no later than 6 months after publication.
